Relationships - a case study

Relationships, a very very complex thing that a human lives with. Still they so very much needed that life seems nothing without them.

I am gonna talk about a true story. Have seen this happen quite often around me. This one invloves 3 objects. Sometimes extends to even 4. But for now just take the case of 3.

So the scenario is like this - the 3 components are:
1. a guy
2. the guy's other half (i am talking in future in which this doesnt seem to be a thing thats going to happen but lets say "the other half" (TOH) for now)
3. the TOH's parents (this ccould be the guy's parents or sometimes - both)
Relationships between a guy and a gal is sometimes so hard to carry on, sometimes very easy. Effort from both sides are very much needed to keep it alive...keep it enjoyable. So this guy meets this TOH sometime during his college days... they get along fine.. no problems.. they love being with each other so much .. and u know ...at this stage they can't even imagine life without one of them not being in the other's. So much of mutual dependencies...so much of liking.. so much in common.. they think they are made for each other..BUT... I told ya - there are complexities...!!!

Here pass those golden college days and distance separates them... but they promise to keep their promises. Time passes and now its time to disclose their relationship to their parents so that their joint venture could go ahead in future bonded by "marriage".
Upon the disclosure:

Parents : "We would enquire about the guy, his family, status and his job profile."TOH explains them the whole scenario. And now the TOH's parents had issues with it.......
Issues - 1st : inter-caste. 2nd : financial status of the guy's family and his job profile. Well... I guess they could compromise with the 1st issue but the 2nd (tho' they dint show this). Parents were adamant and she prepared herself for the compromise. I guess not because she was weak and couldn't standup with her priorities but because she dint want to! And the Guy????? He had to live with it.

Hearts broken .. nights kept eyes wet. dreams were lost.. and they knew they couldnt make it right.

Questions arise - Why did this happen? Did they really want each other? Why couldnt their parents understand them? Why couldnt they agree? Who is truely to be blamed...the guy/gal/parents??? Why dint she stand up for her cause? Did she even try? What about the intensity of their relationship? What about the guy? Many more do arise ! These are tough questions .. u know .. and the answers are even tougher to find! You have to be one of them or u have to be a mind-reader.

What's happening to our Prospective Prime Ministers???

One politician who could surely be called Prime Minister material and whom India has lost is Pramod Mahajan.

Pramod Mahajan is one of the few politicians I look upon to. Be it his charisma or his tech savviness, Pramod Mahajan has always been a leader of today's youth. He was to BJP a ray of hope. An excellent fund raiser. A dynamic organizer. To India he could have been a good Prime Minister. And to Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he was 'Lakshman'. His loss surely leaves a void which cannot be filled very easily. He did to BJP what Rajiv Gandhi did to Congress. But, both of them failed to live to see their dreams get executed.

Now, this brings us to an issue which deserves a lot of consideration. India has off-late lost a number of politicians who could be considered prospective Prime Ministers. And this phenomenon is not confined to either the BJP or the Congress alone. Both of them have been on the losing end.

Let me begin with Rajiv Gandhi. I would have surely voted for him, had I been able to when he was alive. The dynamism and charisma which he carried can be found in very few other leaders. Consider an India with him as the Prime Minister, for say one tenure at least. May be, this is why he was assassinated.

Next, I would like to focus upon two leaders who were contemporaries of Rajiv Gandhi. Rajesh Pilot and Madhavrao Scindia.

Both Rajesh Pilot and Madhavrao Scindia were very high profile and had a decent probability of being Prime Ministers. Had even one of them been alive, the country would'nt have had to face the threat of having an Italian as a Prime Minister. But both of them died in bizarre accidents. Bizarre because, no one could conclusively say what happened or why it so happened.
Now, can you strike the commonality in these tragic deaths. If I was reading Sidney Sheldons with twisty CIA plots aimed at killing leaders of Communist countries I would have jumped to this conclusion. Some foreign entity may want to deprive India of good leaders. Well, its for you to decide.

Are we cursed or is the curse being inflicted upon us......
